3 Social Media Business Marketing Tips to Help You Build Up a Following

If you run a small business, then you’ve probably heard a great deal about how social media can help you. However, most small businesses which start social media accounts are disappointed by the results. It might seem hard to build up a following on social media. And there is no surefire way to make this happen. You don’t get an instruction manual on social media business marketing. However, if you think of it from a common sense point of view, there are certain general guidelines you can follow.

  1. Rome Wasn’t Built in a Day: And your social media following will also not get built up in a day. It takes time and effort to get more followers. This means that you have to post as often as you can, get creative in your posts, try different things and open a few different social media accounts to see which one takes off. At least give yourself a year to build up a decent following on social media.
  2. Engage Your Followers: Some businesses just start social media accounts and start posting on them without checking to see what people are saying in response. Are you getting comments on your posts? What do your customers have to say about the things you are posting? Are they complaining about your product or service, praising it or suggesting something new? In either case, responding to your customers and keeping their comments in mind can be helpful in growing your business.
  3. Get Creative in Your Posts: Your social media accounts may not take off right away. You may have to try different types of posts before you hit upon something that your customers respond to. For some businesses, informational posts might work while for others, promotional posts might be more successful. For some, videos will be more successful than photos while for others, written content may be the way to go. So it’s a good idea to keep trying different things until you find something that works.
